It was in the 90s today, but that didn’t stop me from turning my space heater on full blast at work and sipping hot chocolate this afternoon. My office building has a very “unique” HVAC system, unique being the nice word. If I’m comfortable, the people upstairs are hot and if I’m cold, the people [...]

I’m very intersted in trying the 100-mile diet out once we have our kitchen back in working order again. I know I’m missing out on prime local food options right now during the summer, but I hope that we can give this a whirl in a few months. The website has all of the information [...]

Can I just say that these two cabinets are the best part of our new kitchen? Look at all of the storage space we’re going to have with them! And see that thing kind of in the middle that looks like one of those electric toy racecar ramps? It does this:
Now we will be able [...]

I’m really learning what it means to be flexible during this kitchen renovation. What I think we’re going to end up with (but really, who knows at this point) is very different than I originally pictured in my mind. Part of that is due to a limited product selection. Can you believe Raleigh doesn’t have [...]

In honor of my dear friend Lindsay’s 10th (!) wedding anniversary, I’ve decided to unveil my new set of teeth today. I know she was on the edge of her seat. Tada!
What is that, you ask? Well, those are my teeth, at least in ceramic form. Why do I need them? Well, they’re what the [...]

I know I promised pics of my new set of teeth, but when I got home last night and saw this, I decided I had to adjust my plans a bit. Don’t worry Lindsay, I’ll get to them. Just stay intrigued a little bit longer.
I know it’s a mess, but it’s progress. And look! We [...]

I have a bad habit of forgetting to turn my camera off after I upload images to my computer. I get so involved in the editing process that I forget that the camera is still on and it’s getting the life slowly sucked out of its batteries by the computer that it’s hooked up to.
So, [...]

So Matthew decided on Thursday to get some rocks out of the woods to continue building our stone wall. As he was picking his way through the underbrush, he moved a fallen tree. Apparently, yellow jackets make their hives on the ground, under logs and don’t like it when you move those logs. At least [...]

So with gas prices continuing to climb, I’ve started to look at ways we can reasonably cut back our budget in other areas since I’m not ready to give up my 5am gym sessions to carpool to work and Leslie’s not ready to give up sleep for 5am gym carpools. I’ve considered riding my bike [...]
