We’ve had an unusually mild May for NC this year. But with June 1 right a mere few hours away, summer has finally arrived. It’s in the 90s right now. Blah. I told Matthew that summer’s in NC are my winter. I just want to stay inside in the air conditioning for the next four [...]

A Memorial Day, Fourth of July or Veteran’s Day can’t go by without causing me to remember those who have served, are serving and will serve for the freedom of this country. They also can’t go by without causing our home to remember those we know personally who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country. [...]

WARNING: The pictures you are about to see are of low quality (thank you small spaces) and may cause retinal damage. Proceed with caution.
So I’ve been tossing around the idea of building shelves in one of our two closets for some time now. Yes, you read that right, we have two closets. That’s the downside [...]

We had a good storm last night after a beautiful weekend. My tomato plants were loving it and they’re growing so quickly it’s dumbfounding us.
I’ve been eating some delicious food lately. With Matthew’s work schedule, I have the weekend and Monday nights to make whatever my little heart pleases. Believe it or not, being in [...]

After some unsuccessful stops at garage sales this morning, I took a trip over to the local farmer’s market for some fresh produce. I snagged some green onions, avocados, tomatoes, cucumbers and locally harvested honey. While there, I saw a flyer for the 5th Annual County Farm Tour . Since Matthew has final exams next week, I thought it [...]

We’re trying to eat all of our food up before we go grocery shopping. It’s our attempt at being frugal. So, I had some pre-baked pizza crust laying around and decided to make a white pizza- my favorite!
It was not only delicious but easy and quick as well. I brushed EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) on the [...]

Matthew and I just found out that a friend of ours from college was killed yesterday in a car accident. Andrea was a missionary serving the people of Mexico. As Matthew said, the news of her death is bittersweet. We mourn with her mother and sister as they go through this valley, especially in the wake [...]
